The Dirty RIvers – The Kid

They’re no Oasis, but they’ll do the job until they get back together, WHICH THEY WILL. I haven’t posted in forever but I’m back from the dead now (I’ve been moving home and shit, sorry guys)

Charlie Boyer and The Voyeurs – Be Glamorous

Single off upcoming debut album ‘Clarietta’. Have a listen if you’re into Mystery Jets and Generationals. Looking forward to the album

Haim – Forever (Live on Jools Holland)

I’m a bit of a latecomer to Haim but I really liked their performance on Jools Holland a couple of weeks ago. Going to see them at Summer Stampede in London in July along with Edward Sharpe, Vampire Weekend, Ben Howard and others. Should be a hell of a day.

PS. check out the girl on bass’ facial expressions. Phenomenal gurning.

Hooded Fang – Gravez

New music from Canadian garage rock band Hooded Fang! I had a university exam earlier that didn’t go as well as I’d hoped but this is a day brightener if ever I’ve seen one. Can’t wait for the album, if you haven’t heard them before then listen to the previous album ‘Tosta Mista’. It’s brilliant if a bit short!

The Crookes – Bear’s Blood

New single from English indie band, The Crookes. Looking to see these guys in July at the X& Y Festival in Liverpool. Decent previous three albums, does this mean another? I hope so.

Vampire Weekend – Diane Young

New single from the upcoming new album from Vampire Weekend. Judging from this single alone it seems like the new album is going to be slightly rockier with a very heavily produced sound. I like it personally and I cannot wait for the new album. I loved the self-titled one and Contra after that so I’ve no doubt it will be great.

Filthy Boy – Mental Conditions

Let me start off by saying I cannot recommend this album enough. Had it on pre-order after hearing the first single ‘Jimmie Jammies’ and it’s rivalling Palma Violets on my most worn out record. The album’s called ‘A Smile That Won’t Go Down’ and I expect it to stir up the music industry big time. I do warn you though, it’s incredibly dark and sinister. A type of atmospheric rock not suitable for innocent ears. Might put up a review of it if I have any spare time but right now I need to go out and get drunk. Enjoy!

Tribes – Dancehall

New single from English indie band, Tribes. It comes off their album ‘Wish To Scream’, out on the 20th May. In my humble opinion, it doesn’t seem like alot of progress has been made from their first record judging by the singles but I’ll reserve judgement until I hear it in full.

The Generationals – Ten-Twenty-Ten

A great song is a great song whether it be the first time you hear it or the millionth. This happens to be my millionth (or thereabouts) and it’s still as great as the first time. Indie duo from New Orleans, if you haven’t heard it already I guarantee you’ll love it, or your money back!*

Frightened Rabbit – The Woodpile

Great Scottish band who seem to be up there with the most consistent in terms of producing quality albums. New album ‘Pedestrian Verse is out now, classic Frightened Rabbit (which is a compliment by the way).
